There’s lots to see and do at VB and the choice is yours. It’s a great place to relax and cool out, but also suitable for vigorous physical activity or for meetings. You can organize your own activities or make a plan together with the VB staff. |
Go for a walk at VB to see the greenery, enjoy the cool mountain breezes, listen to the calls of birds and insects, observe the changing face of nature (sometimes fair, sometimes stormy), exercise your muscles and freshen your outlook. The many nature trails at VB total 3km in length, including a circle route (the “green route”) that is 1.1km long and takes 20-30 minutes to walk. There are other beguiling trails in the neighborhood of VB. But don’t expect a cakewalk; the upper end of VB lies about 90 meters above the lower end, so you’ll climb a hill as you wander.

2. Bird watching
VB and its environs are a delight for birdwatchers. VB is often gets visiting birds from the TNGHS, where 244 species have been observed, nearly half the total for Java-Bali. During 2010 about 40 species have been observed at VB, and this number is bound to continue rising as the arboretum grows taller and as the birds feel protected at VB. For your convenience, VB can provide you with a local guide who knows many species and has long experience observing them in the vicinity.

| 3 Take advantage of a quiet spot
VB is located at a distance from the surrounding kampongs, with no kampong found above VB, so that you will enjoy the quiet of this place, far from the hubbub of the city, with a special feelig of privacy. VB is suitable for groups of up to 25 people who wish to be by themselves, for example:
- Reunions and other gatherings – The Gudang Kopi at VB is a hall that is very suitable for reunions and family gatherings; these can spread out on a raised floor of rasamala wood that is 20m long and big enough for 25 persons, both for discussions and for sleeping. In good weather, relax in the garden or the outdoor kitchen under an awning.
- Retreats – the quiet at VB makes it very suitable for religious groups that wish to conduct spiritual activities like retreats and meditation.
- Meetings – For informal meetings, the Gudang Kopi is a good choice in a quiet spot with fresh air and proximity to nature.
- Camping– A camping area beside the Gudang Kopi has space for 20 tents. Visitors need to bring their own tents, mattresses, lighting and ground cloths. When some visitors sleep in tents, VB can accomodate up to about 75 guests.

| 4 Agro-tourism |
|
 |
VB is a good place to study and practice organic farming, including all the stages in vegetable farming – planting, daily care, and harvest. Visitors can also study how compost is made and can harvest vegetables and payby the kilo at bargain prices. Goats and sheep are also raised at VB for their droppings, which are used for compost. There are also pond fish and chickens. There are also the collectionsof 120 types of forest trees (arboretum) and 350 types of medicinal plants . Also dozens of types of fruit trees. Visitors can use these collections to acquaint their kids with various flora and farm animals.
Intending visitors who wish to set up an agrotourism program are invited to contact Pak Jay, who can design a package and discuss the price.

| 5 Kids’ Games
Invite the kids for recreation at VB. It’s a great place to run and jump around. The extensive garden covered with grass is a relatively safe place to jump and even to fall (in most places). Kids will enjoy using the small swimming pool (running mountain water, quite chilly), swings, and a slide. |
