Vila Botani

New Website

Attractions:

  • An arboretum, which takes up half the property, presents a collec-tion of over 1000 forest trees comprising over 100 local species.
  • An organic vegetable farm produces about 30 kinds of vege-tables, some seasonal. Vegetables are picked & sold twice a week.
  • An herbal garden of medical plants brings together over 300 types, mostly local, sorted by family.
  • Birds. 40 species visit VB.
  • Adjoining Vila Botani is the Hali-mun-Salak National Park. There is a rushing creek & nearby water-falls. On well-trod paths, you can explore the pine forest & beyond.
  • A Series Of 20 Slide Shows. A series of slide shows will give you a picture of VB & its environs.

Practicalities:

  • Facilities. Groups can rent a hall ("Gudang Kopi") with a long hardwood deck & an outdoor kitchen for overnights & meetings. There are also individual jungle lodges.
  • Activities. VB is suitable for many activities, ranging from taking it easy or having a retreat to walking about and botanizing. There are 3 km of footpaths for exploring VB.
  • Exploring the neighborhood. VB makes a great base camp for exploring the Mt Salak jungle & its waterfalls on foot or bicycle.
  • The Sekolah Alam uses VB for teaching school-kids about nature.
